Lindsey Elkins – Vocational Course Director
Lindsey graduated from London Studio Centre gaining a BA Hons in Theatre Dance.
During the third year she toured nationally with the Jazz Company under the direction of Petra Siniawski and Michelle Blair. Upon graduation Lindsey worked within the industry as a dancer, performer and choreographer before moving into freelance teaching.
After teaching in a variety of contexts and settings she gained her qualified teacher status and became Subject Leader of Dance at Astley Cooper School where she has spent the last 9 academic years. In the last 9 years Lindsey has gained extensive experience of the BTEC qualifications in Performing Arts becoming the quality nominee for her centre, a standards verifier and examiner for Pearson.
She has become an advisory for BTEC within the local community and has had a variety of students move into vocational training. The dance company at the school have reached national finals in a variety of events for the last 4 consecutive years and have recently been asked to perform at the Southbank Centre as part of the Pineapple Studios community event .
Lindsey continues to perform and choreograph within the dance industry, most recently performing under the direction of Kim Galvin at the London Paralympic Closing Ceremony.
